UI/UX Designer

Design motion that feels purposeful, elegant, and human.

Position
Motion Designer
Location
Toronto, Canada
Type
Remote

We’re looking for a Motion Designer who believes movement is a language of its own — someone who understands how timing, rhythm, and visual emotion can transform ordinary communication into meaningful expression. This role is for a designer who sees animation as storytelling, not just decoration. You’ll help shape how brands speak, feel, and connect across digital touchpoints.

You’ll join a team that values curiosity, experimentation, and thoughtful craft. You’ll collaborate with Art Directors, Strategists, and Product Designers to bring concepts to life — whether it’s a brand film, a launch campaign, a micro-interaction, or a full motion identity system. Your work will have impact, visibility, and room to grow.

What you’ll do

  • Translate creative strategy and brand direction into motion that communicates.
  • Create animated visuals, transitions, kinetic typography, and interaction flows.
  • Develop storyboards, styleframes, motion tests, and narrative concepts.
  • Design movement systems that enhance identity — not just decorate it.
  • Work alongside product and web teams to integrate motion into digital experiences.
  • Push visual language through experimentation, exploration, and brave creative choices.
  • Maintain organized project files and efficient workflows for collaboration.
  • Present ideas and rationale clearly to internal teams and clients.

Your creative impact

As a Motion Designer in our team, you will take part in giving shape to the unseen. You will work with art direction, brand systems, digital products, and narrative spaces — bringing life to form. Some days you’ll be crafting a visual rhythm for a brand’s launch film; other days, you’ll be designing subtle interface micro-movements that guide how users interact with a product.

Your work will create atmosphere — not loud, not showy — but intentional, emotional, layered. The kind of movement that whispers, glows, and stays. The kind that makes something feel real.

What you bring

  • 2–4+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or visual storytelling.
  • A portfolio that shows strong control over timing, pacing, composition, and atmosphere.
  • Proficiency with After Effects, Illustrator, Figma, and editorial tools (Premiere or equivalent).
  • Experience creating motion for branding, campaigns, websites, or product interfaces.
  • Understanding of animation principles (squash & stretch, anticipation, ease, weight, etc.).
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also taking creative ownership.
  • Bonus but not required:
    • Experience with 3D workflows (Blender / C4D / Redshift / Octane).
    • Experience with Lottie or UI motion prototyping.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with performance growth reviews per quarter
  • Flexible working schedule with hybrid / remote options
  • Work with global clients and culturally impactful brands
  • Creative freedom and space to experiment with ideas
  • Team culture focused on learning, collaboration, and respect
  • Access to workshops, skill-building sessions, and design resources
  • Project ownership — your ideas have real influence
  • Support for personal creative projects when aligned with studio vision

How we work together

This role is based in Toronto, Canada, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work depending on the rhythm of each project. We work with clients who value identity, story, and culture — founders and brands who care about what their work means, not just how it looks.

You’ll be joining a small, thoughtful creative team that values depth over speed, conversation over ego, and clarity over noise. We collaborate closely — not to control, but to guide. We believe that the best work comes from care, from listening, from time spent understanding. Here, your growth is not an obligation — it is a priority.
